The government is committed to building the nation and safeguarding its security and stability, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa said on Wednesday.
HRH Premier also underlined the importance of launching more projects that meet the citizens’ expectations and their life easier are among the main concerns of the wise leadership.
He was speaking after the opening of the Isa Town tunnel, HRH Premier said that upgrading the citizen-directed services and developing public roads are given top priority by the government in order to provide the citizens with cutting-edge services, as part of the unprecedented progress and development witnessed by the kingdom under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
“The attempts made by some to create disturbances and undermine public security will not impede the nation-building march, as our determination and resolve to serve the nation will never waver or fade way,” he said.
“The construction march in the kingdom will continue as the urban boom and population growth require more cutting-edge and innovative infrastructure projects, especially roads, flyovers and tunnels,” HRH Premier said as toured the new tunnel, accompanied by the Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Minister Dr Joma’a Al Ka’abi, Works Minister Essam Al Khalaf and officials from the Works Ministry and the constructing company.
HRH Premier also hailed the contributions of the Bahraini competencies who, he asserted, “have translated their love and loyalty to the nation through dedication to work.”
HRH Premier also indicated that the kingdom, as directed by HM King Hamad, will carry out a number of vital projects within the coming years in order to cope with the multi-faceted progress boom the kingdom is currently witnessing and for the sake of attracting investors, calling for the speed up the construction pace.
“We are proud of the modernization and development marches prevailing in the kingdom during HM King Hamad’s prosperous era,” he also said, adding that Bahrain has always gained international acclaim because of its successful human development policies.
Works Minister lauded HM King Hamad’s constant support for this vital project, hailing the close follow up of HRH Premier and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander.
“The wise leadership has played a crucial role in implementing the Works Ministry’s projects across the kingdom, which boosted the urban sector in the country,” he said.
The 560-metre tunnel, taking traffic from Manama to Riffa and A’ali, is expected to considerably reduce congestion in the area.
The first phase of the project, taking traffic from Manama to Sanad, was opened last month.
The entire project will be completed by the end of September when a flyover from Sanad to Manama will also open.
