Information Affairs Authority (IAA) Director of Publication and Publishing and Acting Director of Foreign Media Nawaf Mohammed Al Mawadh revealed today that within the framework of development and advancement being witnessed by Bahrain media on all levels, the strategic plan prepared by the IAA for 2011-2015 has been complete. The plan has taken into consideration the continued and speedy development of the media field on all levels.
Al Mawadh said that the IAA based on the directives of its president Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa had restructured its directorates and new ones created to achieve the ambitions that all aspire to accomplish in the media field. He explained that the second phase would focus on the development of the foreign media sector and the procedures related to it.
This sector he said is considered one of the most important and active in reflecting the true image of the Kingdom of Bahrain worldwide through various foreign media establishments.
Al Mawadh said that all facilities would be utilized to attain the information and news from its source. Within this context, he said that new directorates have be created and they included Directorate of Media Monitoring, Directorate of Media Relations and other directorates involved in social networking such as Facebook and Twitter.
These would further help project the kingdom’s achievements and respond to false information that some channels broadcast. Al Mawadh said that there were several procedures that would be undertaken to correct the wrong image projected about Bahrain and revealing the truth and development being witnessed by the kingdom.
