Industry and Commerce Minister Dr. Hassan Fakhro, visited factories located in the Mina Salman Industrial area to ascertain work progress in factories and services that work in Mina Salman Industrial zone, said that industrial sector would remain a vital pillar of the national economy.
The minister was received by the representatives of the factories and the minister stressed the importance of communication and openness between Ministry officials, on one hand, and the managers of these economic facilities on the other. The Minister said that the industrial sector would continue play its crucial role in the national development of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Dr. Fakhro affirmed to provide support to all factories and companies operating in the Kingdom of Bahrain, particularly national ones in order to access regional markets and global as well. “The ministry is continuing its work to develop infrastructure that aimed to enhance investment in Bahrain,” he said.
“Salman Industrial Port considered one of an oldest industrial area in Bahrain, which belong to the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, where it was established in 1960 in a total area of 730.000 square meters. It is fully tenanted includes approximately 76 projects, with an investment of BD1.6 billion and with an employment opportunities of 3,000.
During his visit to the Port the Minister met with the representatives of Ahmed Nass Gorup. Ahmed Nass group specialized in manufacturing cement. This factory is important in providing local market of cement products, which is the main component that goes into construction and development. The group has investment of BD 15 million.
Al Houti Laboratory Services is a laboratory started in 1982. It provides testing service for a number of important project in the Kingdom of Bahrain and GCC countries especially Qatar. The lab focuses on the process of quality control and provides security in construction filed of various industrial project of private and public sector. The volume investment of this project is BD 3.7 million and provides 100 jobs.
Muharraq Engineering Services is one of the oldest factories in the region, where was founded in the sixties of the last century. Its main job is fabricating and turning steel and engineering products for large factories in Bahrain such as BAPCO, ALBA and GPIC.
