Allegations Bahraini Mohammed Abdulhussain Jaafar Al-Farhan died from tear gas inhalation have been denied on Saturday. “The child passed away on Saturday, April30, due to chronic on Saturday diseases and serious health complications”, the Health Ministry said. It issued a statement debunking the allegations being spread via satellite TV channels and cyber forums, describing the narrative as untrue and out of touch with reality.
“These allegations are not based on official medical reports or scientific evidence”, it said. Mohammed Abdulhussain Jaafar Al-Farhan developed chronic kidney inflammation in 2008 and suffered from an acute inflammation of the nervous system since 2006, causing his physical disability over the last two years. He had also a history of recurrent lung inflammations. Furthermore, he was admitted to the hospital pediatric ward intensive care unit, after developing acute kidney failure, breathing problems and spasmodic convulsions due to acute inflammation of the brain and the diffuse bone marrow metastasis.
Mohammed Abdulhussain Jaafar Al-Farhan was last admitted to the pediatric intensive care unit last April 25 with acute breathing problems, coughing and high fever for two weeks, failing to respond to the medical treatment prescribed to him by the health centre. The medical tests showed that he was suffering from acute inflammation of the right lung. He was admitted to hospital, suffering from recurrent spasmodic convulsions, lung inflammation, low level of consciousness, prompting doctors to put him under artificial respiratory system. The X-rays also revealed large strokes, seriously impairing the brain functions.
Mohammed Abdulhussain Jaafar Al-Farhan ultimately died in the early hours of April 30 of acute brain stroke. Medical tests had revealed that he might have also developed erythematosus Systemic Lupus, exposing him to serious health complications.
