The Minister of Housing Basim bin Yacoub Al Hamer conducted an inspection visit to the Northern city housing project on Sunday.
During his tour Al Hamer he was briefed by the project’s technical team on the various stages of the project and the programme that would be implemented related to developing this vital project.
The minister emphasized the importance of preserving the general plan of the project that was endorsed by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa during his chairmanship of the housing committee. He also stressed on the need to begin immediately work related to protecting water channels and the coast as part of the project that was partially affected due to environmental and climatic conditions.
This project tops the list of housing cities that are part of a project called “Bahrain new cities” that would fulfill housing needs for various governorates in the Kingdom and part of the housing ministry’s vision of urban planning and development.
Moreover, the Northern city project is personally followed-up by His Majesty the King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and reflects his keenness in providing the best suitable housing facilities for all citizens.
Meanwhile, His Royal Highness the Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa had affirmed the government’s care on the progress of this project within the framework of the set plans and the start of its construction phase.
Moreover, it is important to extend thanks and appreciation to His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander for and committee members for the great efforts they had exerted in placing the policies, plans and modern housing programmes.
This project is considered one of the most prominent housing projects covering a total of 740 hectares of reclaimed land to accommodate 100,000 people incorporated within a beautiful natural environment. The city would include all modern facilities such as education, recreational, commercial and economic to requirements.
