Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) board of directors approved the appointment of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry board member Saqer Shaheen as Vice-Chairman of the board of directors, and Vice-President of Administrative and Financial Affairs Raji Abdulrahman as the Acting Chief Executive pending the appointment of a new Chief Executive.
The board members also agreed on assigning the Chairman of the Board as an official spokesman to the media exclusively for the council.
The first meeting following the new formation of the board was chaired by Labour Minister and Chairman of the Council, Jameel Mohammed Ali Humaidan in the presence of all members.
The Labour Minister initiated the formation of a Legal affairs committee, an Auditing committee and a committee for administrative affairs, pointing out the priorities of each committee for the upcoming period.
The board members expressed their appreciation to the efforts of the former chairman, in establishing the authority and leading it to higher stages of success. The chairman stressed the council’s keenness to go forward with serving the implementation of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s reformatory project.
