Culture Minister Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa took part in the opening ceremony of the Arab Travel Market in Dubai, the UAE.
The key ATM 2011 is scheduled to run until May5th. Shaikha Mai’s participation comes out of keenness to affirm Bahrain’s status on the Arab and international tourism map destination, thanks to its credentials as cultural tourism destination.
Shaikha Mai pointed out the wise leadership’s keen interest to revitalize the tourism sector and its support for the implementation of planned strategies, towards meeting the goals of the Bahrain 2030 Economic Vision. She highlighted the current ministry’s efforts to launch the third edition of Bahrain Summer Festival to promote the internal tourism, to the benefit of Bahraini and resident families, and attract GCC visitors.
She also expressed her confidence in the strong capacity of Bahrain’s national economy, stressed the ability of the tourism sector, in particular, to overcome challenges in cooperation with all parties and partners in the tourism industry. Acting Assistant for Tourism Nada Ahmed Yassine is leading Bahrain’s delegation with 44 participants representing 17 hospitality, travel tourism and aviation firms.
