The campaign unveiled by the Supreme Council for Women (SCW)’s Youth Committee on Saturday at Seef Mall’s extension, the “I Am Bahrain” attended by thousands of families of Bahrainis and residents showing a clear support to the leadership and to the Kingdom.
SCW’s Secretary General Hala Al Ansari said that the initiative was aiming at consolidating the patriotism and national belonging, adding that such campaigns play a major role in restoring unity, fraternity and solidarity among the citizens of the one-family Bahraini society, as outlined by Islam.
She also explained that the function was one of the outcomes of the consultative meeting held between SCW and women NGOs under the chairmanship of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and SCW Chairwoman who has always highlighted the crucial role played by youths in prompoting national belonging and patriotism.
She also hailed the huge turnout, asserting that it reflects Bahrain citizens’ devotion to their beloved nation.
During the opening ceremony, Head of the Youth Committee Sana Ali said that the campaign involves all Bahraini social groups and aims to promote national unity and loyalty to the kingdom, noting that it will run for three months and will include youth-oriented TV shows and social programmes.
After that, young poet Sarra Yateem read two poems on love and loyalty to the wise leadership and Bahrain.
Then, young singer Hala Al Tark chanted a number of national songs which met the satisfaction of the audience.
A number of activities were held during the two day event on the sidelines of the “I Am Bahrain” campaign, including performances by Police music band, face painting, henna paintings and cultural competitions.
Celebrities from all walks of life, including the Police Music Band, attended the function which concluded on Sunday.
