Bahrain’s parliamentary delegation currently visiting the United States, led by Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence and National Security at the Bahrain Shura Council, Dr. Salah Ali, said that the National Dialogue which will begin on the 1st of July has been welcomed at regional and international levels.
During their meeting with the Legal Counsel of the US Foreign Affairs Committee, Charles Dujon, and US Congressman, Jesse Jackson, Jr., Dr. Ali invited the Congressman to visit the Kingdom of Bahrain and see firsthand the stability and security of the current situation, stressing in this context the important role played by the Bahraini parliament in international communication, which illustrates Bahrain’s commitment to all international human rights policies.
Dujon welcomed the visiting delegation and expressed his appreciation to the Bahrainis’ invitation, which would better inform the world of what is truly happening in the kingdom rather than what has been handed through some media centers which has raised concerns regarding the legal rights and democracy in Bahrain.
Dujon praised the progress and development seen in the kingdom during the past 10 years, pointing out the obtained prestige of women in Bahrain and the actions taken in the country to ensure the recovery and the return of normal life. The two sides also reviewed during their meeting, which took place in Washington, DC, the important role and nature of the National Dialogue, as well as the measures taken by the country in creating a suitable environment for starting the Dialogue, including the return of some dismissed from their jobs which was decided by the specialized investigating committee who will reveal further results by August. Members of Congressional Delegation (CODEL) are a group of parliamentarians who follow up the various events happening worldwide, and turn their reports to the decision-making centers in U.S. The Bahraini delegation was headed by Dr. Ali and included members of the Shura Council, namely Abdul Rahman Jawahry, Nancy Khadory, Ahmed Ibrahim Al Mulla, Latifa Mohammed Al Guood, Isa Abdul Jabar Al Koheji, Mohammed Esmaeel Al Ama’adi, Dr. Fowzia Yousif Al Jeeb and Salim Al Sherooqi.
