GCC Ministers’ of Foreign Affairs began this evening the 119th GCC Ministerial meeting sessions in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
At the outset of the meeting the UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs and current session chairman Shaikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan delivered a speech in which he stated that the meeting represented a source of strength and that the unified move and coordination by the GCC was for the best interests of the region especially during the current regional and international situation.
Shaikh Abdullah that development and advancement topped the work agenda of this meeting in addition to the unstable situation in the region. The GCC Secretary General Dr Abdulatif bin Rashid Al Zayani said that the meeting came following the consultancy meeting between the GCC leaders held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia last May and directives presented during the meeting. Dr Al Zayani emphasized that the general secretariat was following-up on the implementation of these directives. He said that the meetings would also follow-up on the efforts being exerted to resolve the Yemeni issue and regional issues.
