Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) chairman Dr. Essam Fakhro asserted that the rescheduling of the Bahrain F1 Grand Prix to the 2011 calendar is a real victory, thanks to the strong will of the wise leadership, asserting that hosting such a key world event in Bahrain reflects the global acclaim the kingdom enjoys following the restoration of security and stability across the Kingdom.
Dr. Fakhro also added that the rescheduling of the race gives back great confidence to Arab and foreign investors to widen their investment in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Dr. Essam told Bahrain News Agency (BNA) that the BCCI, as the representative of the private sector, is working hard to render this event success through forming a joint working team with Bahrain International Circuit (BIC). BCCI is represented in this team which will be announced before the end of this month, by three committees including the tourism committee, retail committee and Old Souq committee in order to promote this event in a positive way as an investment center in the region.
Chairman of BCCI said that this working team will call all concerned bodies in the Kingdom to boost this major sport event including tourism, hotels, Retail Business and airlines for the success of Formula one.
Dr. Fakhro also added that BCCI and as usual always urges big and small companies to effectively contribute through promoting for the F1 by distributing promotional tickets for the public to attend this event, stressing the role of the retail sector in particular to make greater efforts in marketing and by providing an ideal price for visitors who are attending the F1.
He added that all suitable conditions needed for the success of the F1 race set to be held next October 30, 2011, praising all the efforts made to bring the event back to Bahrain.
On this occasion, Dr. Fakhro extended his sincere congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander, the President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and the Bahraini people, stressing that holding the F1 race in Bahrain will benefit many sectors.
He also hailed the huge efforts exerted by HRH Crown Prince in order to bring back the F1 race to Bahrain, calling upon all government departments, the private sector, NGOs and the Bahrain citizens to join ranks so as to ensure the success of such a major world event.
