Under the patronage of Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, the BDF Directorate of National Safety organized, at the Isa Royal Military College, a symposium on “the Arab Peninsula and Leaders of the Future”. State Minister for Defence Affairs General Dr Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa attended the event on behalf of the BDF Commander-in-Chief, in the presence of Deputy Premier Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa. During the opening session, GCC Secretary General’s Advisor for Political Affairs Dr. Adel Ali Abdulla delivered a lecture on the roles of the tribe and the state in light of the regional and global changes, and the significance and goals of the New Middle East Project. State Minister for Defence Affairs praised the advanced level of the issues discussed during the symposium addressing the latest developments witnessed by the region currently. He also hailed the tremendous efforts made by the lecturer and the symposium organisers, which, he asserted, reflects BDF’s keenness to tackle vital issues. He also pledged that BDF will hold similar events in order to analyse the current regional and global situation, consolidate national cohesion and be able to face any strategic threats targeting the GCC region, in line with the directives of the BDF Commander-in-Chief. The Commander of the Peninsula Shield forces Major-General Motlaq bin Salim Al Azima’a, National Guard Commander Major General Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, guests, and officers from the Bahrain Defence Force, Interior Ministry, National Guard and the National Security Agency also attended the event which will run until Tuesday.
