The newly formed Bahrain Journalist Association board (BJA) held its first meeting at its headquarters chaired by its president Isa Al Shiji. Al Shiji congratulated its board members on this great trust that they had attained during the general assembly wishing them continued success in achieving the association’s goals.
He said that this was a crucial phase in light of the National Dialogue that all wished to succeed. During the meeting the duties of all members were distributed in agreement as Moaness Al Mardi was nominated vice president, Ahmed Al Mudaweb as Secretary General, Mohannad Sulaiman as Treasurer, Abdali Al Abdali head of the Profession and Training, Mohammed Al Ahmed head of the Freedoms Committee, Abdullah Al Mannai head of the Culture and International Relations, Ahdeya Ahmed Head of memberships and community affairs, Samah Alam head of Media and Relation and Mohammed Ismael substitute member and Head of Sports Affairs. Meanwhile, member Samah Alam said that the committee reviewed during the meeting the honour code of the profession that was endorsed by the general assembly and the issue of it being referred to legal specialists. All members she said were supportive of achieving tangible accomplishments for the association’s members.
