His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa’s call to engage a national dialogue on July1 has today won international support. France voiced its support for the dialogue between all Bahraini sections to address the Kingdom’s problems. The French Foreign Ministry hailed the Royal initiative, describing as “very positive sign”. “France welcomes the call made by Bahrain’s monarch to engage a national statement. We are looking forward to the peaceful settlement of problems and difficulties facing Bahrain for the sake of Bahraini citizens”, it said in a statement issued on Wednesday.
“France has been calling for a real national dialogue between all parties concerned by the political crisis for the sake of reconciliation”, France Ministry spokesman Bernard Valero said. He reiterated his country’s stance, considering national dialogue as the only path to settle the political crisis in Bahrain. He also hailed HM the King’s call for national consensus as a “very positive sign”. “The government of my country firmly believes that the atmosphere of confidence in Bahrain will be a major catalyst which would consolidate commitment to take part in the forthcoming dialogue”, he said.
