Kuwait Finance House–Bahrain’s (KFH-B) Ahl Alata’a network announced its support of Think Pink Bahrain’s initiative to install a state-of-the-art MRI scanning facility to assist the Salmaniya Medical Complex in their fight against breast cancer. KFH-Bahrain’s support will contribute towards the civil works in both the Radiology MRI room and Oncology Simulator room.
Currently, advanced MRI scanning treatment is limited in Bahrain and upon purchasing this equipment; Salmaniya Medical Complex will be able to provide advanced breast cancer screening and diagnosis free of charge for all women in the Kingdom.
“Creating awareness of the dangers of breast cancer will certainly help women in our community comprehend the importance of early detection and performing regular examinations. KFH-Bahrain, through initiatives such as the ones organised by the Ahl Alata’a network, is committed to support the establishment of an advanced breast cancer screening and diagnosis facility and we are pleased to have partnered with Think Pink Bahrain to support this worthy cause,” Sattam Algosaibi, Executive Manager and Head of Human Resources at KFH-B said.
Think Pink Bahrain is a non-profit organization that was founded by Julie Sprakel in 2004. Over the years, the funds raised by the organization have been utilised to support the National Campaign for the Early Detection of Breast Disease, which screens Bahraini women over the age of 40.
“It is with great pleasure that we receive this donation. The relationship between KFH and Think Pink Bahrain has been strong for over two years now, and it is an honour to be collaborating with like-minded people. They have enabled our message of breast cancer awareness to be resonated through all levels within the Kingdom. We thank them today for helping us come closer to our goal: a digital MRI machine for the community of Bahrain. Breast cancer is not race, religion or class orientated. It is only with research, education, early intervention and public awareness that we can fight this disease,” Jules Sprakel, Founder of Think Pink Bahrain said.
