The First Lower National Safety Court heard two cases, the Military Prosecutor, in a statement said.
In the first case, Hadi Ahmed Hassan Makki stood trial over charges of hiding crime tools, inciting the hatred of the ruling system and protesting illegally.
During the session, the suspect pleaded not guilty, but the Military Prosecution insisted that his confessions and investigation reports were enough evidence to indict him. The final pleadings will be presented next Monday, July 4. In the second case, 28 suspects accused of publicly spreading fabricated and malicious information about the number of victims during unrest.
The court allowed the defence team to have access to the case documents, including copies of the witnesses’ testimonies, and decided to adjourn the case to Wednesday, July 6. Present were Salman Nasser from the Gulf European Centre for Human Rights and Atiyatala Rohani from the Bahrain Centre for Human Rights. Relatives of the defendants and victims also attended.
