The Information and Communication Technology Conference MEET ICT 2011 concluded on Tuesday, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.
Held under the patronage of Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, this year, MEET ICT 2011 conference included large variety of events.
The first day was the official opening of the conference, and the Exhibition, in addition to the sessions that were held by over 28 local and international speakers, who covered different topics related to the ICT, such as the latest trends in information technology, innovation and information technology, government to business, opportunities and challenges, in addition to ICT Regional Development and the digital economy.
Around the two day event, more than 300 delegates participated in the sessions that were held for two day, while the official opening was attended by over 200 from the Kingdom of Bahrain and abroad, including executive directors from public and private sectors, heads of civil society institutions, Bahrain UNDP representatives as well as members from the United Nations, World Summit Awards (WSA), international ICT associations and eGovernment representatives from different countries.
Ubaidly Al Ubaidly, Chairman of the MEET ICT 2011 Organizing Committee said that the conference was an opportunity for the ICT users to learn more about the latest trends in the field, especially that ICT sector plays a vital role in the individual’s daily lives.
Al Ubaidly thanked and appreciated Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, for his continues support and patronization, in addition he thanked all the participants, speakers, organizers, sponsors, and partners for their efforts towards bringing the conference to success, and for their role in enhancing and bridging the ICT knowledge gab among the region countries.
The MEET ICT 2011 Conference was organized by Gulf Future Business with strategic partnerships with Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB), the eGovernment Authority and Bahrain ICT Suppliers Trade Association (BISTA).
The conference aims at supporting the growth of ICT industry in the Kingdom f Bahrain, attract specialized global ICT providers to invest in Bahrain besides exchanging experience and expertise in this field and encouraging government and private sectors to develop ICT industry.
