The eGovernment Authority signed a strategic partnership agreement for the MEET ICT 2011 conference entitled “The Convergence of ICT Leaders” which will be held under the patronage of Kamal Bin Ahmed Mohammed, Minister of Cabinet Affairs on the 20th-22nd of June at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.
Over 450 delegates from the Kingdom of Bahrain and abroad are expected to attend this event.
Held for the second time in the Kingdom of Bahrain the MEET ICT 2011 conference and Expo shall attract prominent experts and specialists in the ICT field and will hold workshops aimed to enhance the engagement of such expertise. This event is conducted with the collaborative efforts of Gulf Future Business, Bahrain ICT Suppliers’ Trade Association (BISTA) functioning under Bahrain Internet Society.
“The eGovernment Authority is keen on its strategic partnership for this immense convention, which will contribute, without a doubt to acknowledge the latest innovation in the ICT industry as well as the continuous challenges emerging in this sector,” Mohammed Ali Al Qaed, CEO of the eGovernment Authority said.
He also emphasized on the essential outcomes of this convention which includes important recommendations that will shed light on the current situation in the region and means to enhance the use of ICT in various fields.
“The convention is an opportunity for decision makers, specialists and experts in the domain of ICT from more than 30 countries to assemble and discuss various means to improve the use of technology in the region as well as solutions implemented to face challenges. This convention is an educational opportunity for everyone because it will include a rich base of exchange of expertise in this field,” Ahmed Al Hujairy, CEO of Gulf Future Business said.
One of the important activities that will take place at the MEET ICT 2011 conference is the panel discussion and debates about different cases that affect directly this industry on the 20th and 21st June as well as workshops conducted on the 22nd June by experts in the field of ICT. The event will also include field visits for the international delegations to meet the large national entities specialized in this ICT industry.
The convention will host more than 34 speakers the Kingdom of Bahrain and abroad related to ICT to present different topics related to ICT and mainly about the latest technological orientations, IT administration, and the implication of wired and mobile communications on businesses, multimedia content and e-learning channels as well the opportunities and challenges faced during the creation of the eGovernment in addition to the role of ICT in the national economy.
Dr. Zakareya Al-Khaja, Director of Policies and Business Processes Re-engineering at the eGovernment Authority will be a participant in the one of the conference panel discussion sessions emphasizing matters related to Government to Business relations and its role in supporting the economy when it comes to opportunities and challenges.
The major speakers include Professor Peter Bruke, Chairman of the World Summit Award, Austria, Tareq Hejazi, Director of Microsoft Oman and Bahrain, David Hughes from Intercai Mondiale Bahrain’s Branch, Ramzi Zeine, Executive Chairman of STS Jordan, Abdulla AlBaloushi, Managing Director of Omzest from the Sultanate of Oman and Hesham AlSawi, President of Cairo IT Solutions from Egypt.
The MEET ICT Expo will be held over two days 20th and the 21st of June at the Crowne Plaza from 9a.m- 5p.m and is open to the public. It is an excellent opportunity for specialized entities in the domain of ICT to showcase their main activities, and networking point to meet and interact with different parties and experts at a local and a regional level.
The MEET ICT 2011 conference is one of the most important annual assemblies that bring together decision makers in this field. It negotiates Arab ICT strategies in line with the sustainable development goals in the Arab world.
