More than 3,500 people attended LG Electronics’ highly anticipated Middle East launch of its next-generation CINEMA 3D TV at Ferrari World, Abu Dhabi in the presence of Hollywood actress, Megan Fox, the female lead of the Transformers films: Revenge of the Fallen movies.
In one of the region’s most important product launches, LG’s new 3D technology effectively brings the ultimate 3D viewing experience to markets across the Middle East and Africa, ushering in a new era in home entertainment.
“LG is opening a new chapter in the development of world TV by bringing CINEMA 3D to consumers in the region. It represents the absolute pinnacle of 3D TV entertainment using the very best of recent innovative technology from LG,” said K.W. Kim, President of LG Electronics, Middle East and Africa.
“The end result is a superior product that is sure to place us at the very forefront of TV markets around the world.”
Fox was in the UAE for the first time especially for LG’s next generation CINEMA 3D launch and commented; ”I’ve been totally impressed by LG’s CINEMA 3D TVs. The picture is awesome and the 3D is incredible; I can’t wait to get one.”
LG’s CINEMA 3D TVs use LG’s patented Film Patterned Retarder (FPR) technology, which LG says enhances the overall viewing experience. FPR provides a crisp and sharp 3D image when viewed through its lightweight polarized glasses, allowing viewers to watch the very best in 3D entertainment for longer, and in greater comfort.
“LG’s goal of ensuring added comfort with a crystal-clear and smooth 3D image is certified Flicker-free by TÜV and Intertek, two world-renowned technology testing agencies from Europe,” said Kim. “By addressing the issue of flickering and cross-talk, LG has ensured that dizziness or even nausea that could affect people watching 3D TV is no longer an issue.”
To further enhance the image, CINEMA 3D’s Light Boost ensures 3D pictures are outstandingly bright and clear. LG’s FPR technology also allows flexible viewing positions and a wide viewing angle making CINEMA 3D ideal for watching in larger groups. With an advanced 2D to 3D conversion, viewers will also never be short of top-quality 3D content.
LG’s CINEMA 3D TV is viewed through glasses that tip the scales at just 16 grams and have no electrical parts. Therefore, they are free of electromagnetic waves which might cause health issues and never need charging. The glasses’ reasonable price means viewers can buy as many pairs as they need for friends and family, while people who already wear glasses can add clip-on versions to their spectacles for greater comfort and convenience.
The very latest innovation from LG isn’t just about a superior 3D TV experience, it also incorporates a number of Smart TV functions, giving users even more access to content through the very best in connectivity.
“What we have here is a state-of-the-art product that marries high quality performance with innovation and the very latest in technological advancement.
