A probe committee headed by the Minister Labour has absolved 571 employees from charges of absenteeism and recommended their reinstatement to their respective jobs.
“A batch of 571 sacked employees has been reinstated into their jobs for lack of legal foundations justifying their dismissals,” a statement posted on the BNA website said.
A verification committee chaired by Labour Minister Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan recommended the concerned employees to be reinstated.
Directives were then issued to take the necessary measures to this end. The committee has also been directed to speed up the scrutinisation of all the remaining cases, to ensure the legality of their dismissals, and then submit an expedite report. His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa had issued directives setting up the verification committee.
The panel had since then gauged the cases of employees sacked by companies to ensure the legality of disciplinary measures. The ministry’s officials visited concerned companies and ensured the legality of procedures before taking the afore-mentioned decision.
