President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa attended the activities of the Youth City 2030 in its second consecutive edition that is being organized by the General Organisation for Youth and Sports (GOYS) in cooperation with Tamkeen. The event was attended by the Minister of Education Dr Majid bin Ali Al Nuaimi and the CEO of Injaz Shaikha Hessa bint Khalifa Al Khalifa.
At the outset of the event Shaikh Nasser officially opened the city following which he toured the various sections that have been divided into five villages. These villages included “Media”, “Skills and Leadership”, “Informatics”, “Scientific” and “Art”.
Shaikh Nasser was also briefed on the various activities, programmes and workshops being organized as part of the event aimed at providing information and modern skills for youth. The objective of these activities is to involve youth in the development process being witnessed by the Kingdom in light of the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. Moreover, Shaikh Nasser was also briefed on the noble objectives of the city that targets reinforcing youth skills and allowing them to gain more experience enabling them to move forward towards a brighter future. Meanwhile, Shaikh Nasser affirmed that youth represented the bright image of development and prosperity of the society and shouldered great responsibilities in undertaking their active role within the community. He said that the youth made up the larger portion of the population and that the kingdom was proud of the outstanding status they had gained being one of the cornerstones of the prosperous era of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa who is considered the prime supporter for youth movement, and care by His Royal Highness the Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa along with the follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander. Shaikh Nasser affirmed his interest in placing the strategic framework for youth aimed towards further developing within them awareness, respect and commitment to become more active in the community. Moreover, to incorporate youth needs, interests, issues and viewpoints along with their aspirations to be within the framework of the Economic Vision 2030. This he said in turn would help in integrating youth in the labour market due to the fact that they represented the bright future of the country.
