The authorities at the Bahrain International Airport on Saturday arrested two Columbian nationals for carrying forged Italian travel documents.
The assistant undersecretary for Exits, Search and Follow-up at the General Directorate of Nationality, Passports and Residence stated that two people were arrested at Bahrain International Airport with forged Italian travel documents.
He said that the two suspects approached the passports’ officer to endorse their travel documents. The officer on suspicion of the forgery of the documents referred the documents to the computerized reader that revealed that they were forged.
The two Columbia suspects were immediately arrested and equipment used for forging documents was confiscated from them. He also indicated that the case was referred to the public prosecution so that the necessary procedures are undertaken.
