Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Minister Dr. Juma’a Al Ka’abi paid an inspection visit to Prince Khalifa bin Salman Park project in Hidd. He was accompanied by parliament First Deputy Chairman Ghanim Fadhl Al Buainin, Muharraq Municipality Head Abdul Nasser Al Mahmid, Al Hidd Municipal Representative Ramzi Al Galalif, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Undersecretary Dr. Nabil Abul Fath and Assistant Undersecretary for Joint Municipal Services Mohammed Nour Al Sheikh.
Dr. Juma’a has stressed that Muharraq Governorate will witness many development projects as part of the ministry’s strategy 2011-2015.
He also underlined that the ministry is going ahead with the implementation of its ambitious scheme to allocate a public park for each governorate. The minister hailed progress of work on Prince Khalifa bin Salman Park which is hoped to be opened by end of this year. “The ministry has been keen while implementing this project to follow the directives of the leadership in order to achieve sustainable development according to the Economic Vision 2030,” he said.
“The project is in concordance with Bahrain’s strategic structural plan 2030,” he added pointing out that the project has a distinctive feature as it overlooks the sea. The BD5.68million project is expected to become one of the Kingdom’s tourism attractions, being one of the major park projects with a surface of 78000 square meters. It features various facilities including a recreational park, an artificial lake, waterfalls decorated with stony rocks, a walkway, a tower with a modern round café inside, a petrol station, many restaurants, a jetty and 180 palm trees.
