One of the most unique mentorship programmes, the Zain Bahrain Future University Network (F.U.N), which promises university undergraduates an opportunity to gain valuable real-life workplace experience, has opened its doors once again for summer trainees. This program gives university students the opportunity to nurture their corporate skills under the guidance of Zain experts, who prepare them for rigors of the job market or the challenges of entrepreneurship. F.U.N. is a youth development entity made up of university students who invest in themselves, under Zain’s guardianship, to feed their minds and sculpt their professional skills through teamwork, collaboration, training and practical field work. This project also gives student team members opportunities to develop projects and come up with innovative business ideas and test them against the real world.
The Future University Network (F.U.N) team from Zain Bahrain is set to screen candidates for the summer training programme which will be under the Zain Future University Network (F.U.N.) programme 2011. Applications are invited from Bahraini university students for the 15 places in the F.U.N. summer schedule. Students can apply via www.career.zain.com before the June 16th deadline and the most suitable candidates will then be called for an assessment that will test their teamwork, innovation skills, interpersonal skills, communication skills and interactivity skills.
“While most companies hire summer trainees and teach them to handle a job, Zain Bahrain’s F.U.N. programme teaches trainees to handle a company,” said Zain Bahrain’s Recruitment Team Leader, Rana Al Majed, “We have actually created a “MiniZain Company” where trainees will work as an independent team and will have their own departments within, similar to the actual company, with real-time, real-life goals and objectives that the trainees will have to achieve with the help of experienced Zain Bahrain mentors.”
The summer programme will run from June 26 to September 15, 2011. The participants will be given tasks to accomplish and at the end of the program, they will be assessed and high-achievers will be recognized.
“This is a program with a difference and once again, Zain Bahrain will be serving the community in a unique and valuable way by giving these young people a feel of the real corporate world. Undoubtedly this F.U.N. experience will stand them in good stead when they join the workplace in the future so we urge students with the ambition to shape their future to join the F.U.N,” Dana Bukhammas, Zain Bahrain’s Human Resources Manager, added.
