AJM Kooheji Group, exclusive distributors of LG, on Monday announced the launch of the next generation LG CINEMA 3D TV in Bahrain which includes revolutionary technology adding a dramatic improvement in 3D viewing experience.
With this innovative TV launch, LG raised the bar in home entertainment by introducing its broad range of Cinema 3D TVs and Smart-TVs that incorporate the state-of-the-art. The launch was held at the Regency Intercontinental Hotel attended by 150 guests, dealers and media representatives.
The launch also included LG’s exclusive Pen-touch TVs that allow one to interact with the television using a TV pen and a range of Smart TVs that provides easy access to the internet and many videos and applications.
The launch ceremony-cum press conference was addressed by Mahmood Kooheji, Vice Chairman AJM Kooheji Group; Rohit Raina, AJM Kooheji Group CEO; Hyung Shik Paik, President LG Gulf; James Kim, Product Manager TV Division LG Gulf; K Himavan, Assistant General Manager AJM Kooheji Group and Sanjeev Awasthi, Senior General Manager AJM Kooheji Group.
“LG is opening a new chapter in the quality of home entertainment by bringing CINEMA 3D TV to consumers in the region. It is the absolute pinnacle of 3D TV entertainment and incorporates the latest breakthrough technologies from LG,” said Paik, President of LG, Gulf FZE. “The end result is a superior product that is sure to place LG at the very forefront of markets around the world.”
The technology behind the CINEMA 3D TV is LG’s patented Film Patterned Retarder (FPR) technology. FPR provides a crisp and sharp 3D image when viewed through lightweight polarized glasses, allowing viewers to watch TV for longer, and in greater comfort. Further improving the picture quality is LG’s 3D Light Boost, a thin film covering the screen that ensures images are shown at full brightness.
The CINEMA 3D TV is the world’s first ‘Flicker Free’ TV, as certified by Intertek and TUV, two world-renowned European certification agencies, and has the lowest cross talk. “By addressing the issues of flicker and cross-talk, LG has ensured that dizziness or even nausea that could affect people watching 3D TV is no longer an issue, ensuring a comfortable viewing experience with crystal clear and smooth images,” said Paik.
The CINEMA 3D TV is viewed through glasses that tip the scales at just 16 grams and have no electrical parts. Therefore, they are free of electromagnetic waves which might cause health issues and never need charging. The glasses’ reasonable price means viewers can buy as many pairs as they need for friends and family, while people who already wear glasses can add clip-on versions to their spectacles for greater comfort and convenience.
This experience can be shared comfortably in large groups, as the TV’s FPR technology enables a wider viewing angle in more flexible viewing positions. Viewers will never be short of top quality content with an advanced 2D to 3D conversion feature, and smart features included in LG’s range of SmartTVs.
LG’s SmartTV range provides users with access to thousands of movies, customizable apps, videos, and the ability to browse the Internet with an easy to use interface. A keyboard is not needed to surf the Web, but a QWERTY keyboard App is available for download on Android Smart-phones or iPhone.
LG’s SmartTVs include features like the Smart Share function which allows users to wirelessly stream content from their digital devices including PCs, tablets, digital cameras and mobile phones for viewing on their television screen. Smart Share also includes Media Link, which provides additional information, such as cover art or liner notes for content being streamed.
“Our range of SmartTVs will change people’s television viewing habits. Watching television will no longer be a passive experience, but will offer users an easy and convenient way to access thousands of movies, apps and Internet content on demand,” said Paik.
