“The scholarship programme is the result of the inspiring vision and foresight of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander, Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa. A vision aimed to provide Bahrain’s most gifted youth with the opportunity to learn in some of the world’s leading and prestigious educational institutions and will prepare the right foundation for nurturing Bahrain’s future leaders. It is our privilege to support this initiative since we regard CPISP as an investment for the future aimed at achieving some of the key principles of Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030,” the Chairman of Alba’s Board of Directors, Mahmood Hashim Al Kooheji said.
The Crown Prince’s International Scholarship Program (CPISP) was established in 1999 by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander, Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa. The CPISP provides 10 fully funded scholarships each year, which includes all fees, travel and living expenses, to top secondary school students. The annual scholarship recipients include 5 young men and 5 young women from both private and governmental secondary schools. Scholarship recipients are free to choose their own majors and universities that they gain acceptance from, and are not required to return to Bahrain to work. Graduates are encouraged to obtain a job in the global arena and gain international work experience and exposure.
