Alba, the world’s one of the largest aluminium smelters, participated in Aluminium China 2011 held from July 13 to 15, 2011 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, Shanghai, China.
Alba exports close to 20 per cent of its products to Asia Alba’s participation underlines its commitment to expand the global reach of its product portfolio.

Aluminium China, one of the most awaited events for knowledge exchange and networking opportunities in the aluminium industry, was held from July 13 to 15, 2011 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, Shanghai, China.
The event attracted key decision makers from more than 90 countries encompassing the entire spectrum of the aluminium value chain and witnessed more than 63,000 visitors on the opening of the exhibition. It showcased the latest product innovations and cutting edge technologies as well as facilitated opportunities for suppliers, producers and consumers to meet less than one platform.
“As one of the key industry events, Aluminium China presents the right vehicle for exploring business opportunities with potential trade partners as well as learning of new trends and developments in the industry,” Alba’s Chief Executive, Laurent Schmitt said.
“Currently, we export close to 20% of our products to Asia, and are committed to further broaden the presence of our products in Asian countries. Our participation at this event also gives us the opportunity to present Bahrain as an attractive economic destination to the global business community,” he added.
The exhibition area at Aluminium China 2011 was divided according to different sectors to represent various elements of the value chain. A conference under the theme: “Low Carbon Mobility” was also held alongside the exhibition, and included keynote addresses and presentations by industry leaders.
