Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Abdulla Abdullatif Abdulla received ambassadors and updated them on the keynote address of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa in the extraordinary Cabinet, which was held on June 29 meeting at Al-Sakhir Palace.
Abdulla spotlighted the Royal order establishing a fact-finding commission to investigate events in Bahrain in February and March.
Chaired by award-winning Professor Mahmoud Cherif Bassiouni, the probe panel includes globally-recognized legal experts in international law and human rights.
The establishment of the international fact-finding commission came on the eve of the national dialogue, set to start on Saturday. Abdulla updated the diplomats on the Royal decree transforming the national safety courts into ordinary ones. Preparations for the multi-party national dialogue also came under the spotlight.
