The Kingdom of Bahrain participated in the ministerial meeting held by the Arab Peace Initiative Panel in Doha, State of Qatar. The Kingdom of Bahrain’s delegation to the meeting was headed by Undersecretary of Foreign Affair Ministry for Regional and GCC Affairs Hamad Ahmed Abdul-Aziz Al-Aamir.
The ministerial panel discussed the contemplated moves to be taken by the Arab group in the United Nations and the options and alternatives available for recognition of the Palestinian State and requesting full UN membership seat for the Palestinian State. The panel also decided to form a micro-ministerial panel from a number of Arab countries in order to follow up the situation and the necessary contacts procedures in order to garner the requisite support for creation of the State of Palestine.
The head of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s delegation to the Arab Peace Initiative Panel’s meeting emphasized the Kingdom of Bahrain’s stance often supports the unequivocal rights of the brotherly Palestinian people. He stressed the significance of taking all the steps and actions to conduct the necessary contacts to woo the requisite support from countries and geo-political groups in the United Nations in order to attain international consensus regarding the need to create the State of Palestine whose capital city shall be in Eastern Jerusalem and to reach a comprehensive, just peace with Israel which could not be achieved unless upon Israel’s complete withdrawal from occupied Arab territories in compliance with the relevant legitimate international resolutions.
