The Chairman of the National Dialogue, Khalifa Bin Ahmed Al Dhahrani, has called on the participants of the talks to redouble their efforts to reach agreement on the outstanding issues and being discussed during the sessions of the National dialogue.
“The National Dialogue remains the best way for bridging our divisions and addressing the concerns of the people of Bahrain,” he said.
“The Dialogue does not represent the government or the opposition – but aims to represent the views of people from all walks of our society.”
“I call on the participants to redouble their efforts to reach agreements.”
The Chairman underlined that the Dialogue, which adheres to an international standards for achieving consensus, is approaching a critical phase:
“We have already witnessed agreements tackling a number of important social, economic, human rights and political issues. Participants are commencing on a critical phase of the talks.”
“Talks under the Social heading are nearing a conclusion. At the conclusion of all of the discussions, the Dialogue will forward their recommendations to the King for swift implementation.”
“Participants must not pre-empt the outcome of the Dialogue process but stay the course, put aside their differences and work constructively towards achieving a consensus. I remain confident that our nation’s Dialogue will prove a success and that the recommendations will benefit all sectors of Bahraini society,” he added.
