Industry and Commerce Minister Dr. Hassan Fakhro and a number of MOIC officials visited Bahrain Flour Mills Company and Delmon Poultry Company, to determine the final preparations for the holy month of Ramadan.
During his tour to Bahrain Flour Mills Company, the minister listened to a detailed explanation from Company’s Chairman Yousif Al Saleh, and Board members Ebrahim Zainal, Khalid Saqer Abdulrahman Fakhro. They briefed the minister on work mechanisms and company preparations for Ramadan, where officials praised governments keen to food security issues. They also emphasized taking into account the increased demand for mash, harees, and flour, which considered an important food commodities backed by the government.
Al Saleh confirmed that the company had an adequate stock of up to 6 months and meets the need of expected demand for Ramadan, appreciating government support for the main commodities.
Company officials also reviewed new mills project which is expected to be a capacity of up to 600 tons per day, and expected to be on an area of 19 thousand square meters, representing a strategic project for the company’s plans.
During minister’s tour to Delmon Poultry Company, Vice Chairman Jaafar Habib and General Manager Abdul Kareem Al Alawi explained to the minister work progress and company’s preparations to meet the expected demand for poultry for Ramadan, confirming that the company had completed its preparations for this aspect.
Company’s officials reviewed upcoming plans and projects, which includes a plan to increase the number of chicks to 15 million, with company pursuit to keep up with attention paid by the government in regard to food security.
Dr. Fakhro confirmed government’s keenness for commodity-backed to be available during the holy month of Ramadan wishing for all accepted fasting.
