The first sessions of the National Consensus Dialogue, called by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to usher in a new phase of national work that will help shape the Kingdom’s future which kick started on Tuesday.
The dialogue represents a crucial stage on the path of democracy drawn by His Majesty King Hamad’s statesmanship to ensure a more prosperous future for Bahrain and its People.
Political, economic, rights and social issues will come under the spotlight including mainly political societies, the national economy’s competitiveness and ways of boosting it, women and child’s rights and youth-related issues.
The four sessions, which will tackle the four issues, are held simultaneously bringing together around 60 participants in each one of them representing political societies, NGOs, trade unions and public figures. Four ministers representing the public sector are also taking part in today’s deliberations.
The National Consensus Dialogue meetings are held three times a week, Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday, from 5 pm to 9 pm to discuss a number of issues and reach a consensus on them before visions are forwarded to HM the King to take the appropriate steps regarding them through the constitutional institutions.
