The government will cooperate fully with the Royal Fact-Finding Commission, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa said, adding that the government will spare no effort for sake of providing suitable conditions in order to ensure the success of its mission.
HRH Premier also asserted that His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s decision to establish the commission was a ‘wise and brave’ one reflecting HM’s ‘commitment to transparency and fairness’.
This came as HRH Premier received at the Gudaibiya Palace, the members of the Royal Fact-Finding Commission, led by its Chairman Dr. Mahmoud Sharif Bassiyouni.
HRH Premier welcomed the Commission members and wished them every success, noting that launching such a panel testifies to the kingdom’s adherence to the principles of justice and equality and HM King Hamad’s keen desire to protect the citizens’ dignity and rights.
He also affirmed that Bahraini is known all over the world for its innumerable landmark achievements at all levels, including the human rights one, reiterating the kingdom’s resolve to ensure that its citizens enjoy all their rights as long as they do not violate the law.
HRH Prime Minister also pointed out that the kingdom, as an active member of the International Community, is committed to international human rights standards and is doing its best to consolidate them further through the state of law and institutions anchored by HM King Hamad’s pioneering Reform Project.
