The Crown Prince’s International Scholarship Program concluded its leadership training, for candidates vying for next year’s 2012 scholarships, and who include 40 students from the Ministry of Education Schools and 20 private school students. The CPISP Candidate Leadership Program serves as a component of the selection criteria used to determine the final recipients of the Crown Prince’s scholarships.
The three week program, which took place at the Center of Excellence for Technical and Vocational Education, focused on the development of leadership and communication skills. It included workshops on project management, time management, and teamwork. During the second week, a series of workshops entitled “Going West” focused on preparing students for studying abroad and adjusting to new environments and international cultural integration. Students also took part in a series of panel discussions regarding career opportunities and educational requirements of various industry sectors. And during the final week, students worked on projects relating to the Economic Vision 2030 regarding future education needs and employment opportunities that create sustainable jobs.
During the closing ceremony, students presented their team proposed team projects before a panel of judges comprised of CPISP sponsor representatives and young businessmen, who assessed the presentations and selected the top three projects. CPISP Director Dr. Ronald Koller then presented certificates of achievement to all the student candidates who took part in the Leadership Program.
Dr. Koller congratulated all the candidates for completing the rigorous program, and praised the professional level of their presentations. He also thanked the program’s organizers and trainers for contributing to the success of the program, and affirmed that the Candidate Leadership Program comes as part of HRH the Crown Prince’s efforts to develop Bahraini youth and their academic and leadership capabilities. Dr. Koller also thanked the staff and officials at the Center of Excellence for their continued cooperation.
