Member Dr Samira Rajab affirmed that the Shura council represented the main guarantee for the representation of all sections of the society and included expertise and specializations that achieve social balance.
Dr Rajab highlighted in a statement to Bahrain News Agency following the end of the first session of the National Dialogue political prospective that the participants agreed on the keeping the Shura council and its right in legislation.
They also agreed that the Representative Council Chairman is to be the National Council Chairman despite the chairman in every session had not right to vote only in case of the votes are equal that in turn would cause the weaken of the representative council votes. However, she said that the participants refused the suggestion of electing “1/3 or 2/3” of the Shura council even of the election was indirect.
The latest session of the National Dialogue began on Sunday to achieve more consensuses related to various topics related to the four major categories in political, economic, legal and social sectors.
The session focused on a consensus of opinions on the authority of the Shura and Representatives councils related to their legislative and monitoring powers. This included the legislative mechanism in addition to the relationship between the two councils.
With regard to economic prospective discussion would focus on the standards of the governmental services while the legal prospective would discuss the judicial authority and assurances of its independence along with all procedures related to it.
Meanwhile, the National Dialogue participants would also discuss the civic societies related to the social category under which various point related to security and the sovereignty of the law.
