The programme offers young people with special needs the opportunity to experience a day in the professional world of VIVA, learning about different careers and the work it entail. “This is such an inspirational program as it helped me learn more about people with disabilities and broke many barriers when it comes to what I knew about them. Now I want to do more and take part of such programs more often as it gave me a great sense of satisfaction,” Ali Darwish, one of VIVA’s staff volunteers in the program said.
The graduates, who were chosen by the Ministry of Human Rights and Social Development, then enjoyed lunch with VIVA staff and wrapped up the day armed with a newfound understanding of corporate and professional life.
At the end of the program, one of the young students recited a poem describing his experience in the program and thanking VIVA for their support. VIVA also provided memorable gifts to the young stars participating in the program following company’s officials giving appreciation and thanks to the Ministry of Human Rights and Social Development for their cooperation and continued efforts to achieve such empowering programs for this class of society.
VIVA’s Jusoor programme, which works closely with non-profit organizations, is focused this year on building confidence and enhancing communication within the special needs community. The programme is committed to finding new and meaningful ways to benefit and empower persons with special needs, breaking barriers and encouraging acceptance, so that they become independent and capable members of society.
