The Minister of Foreign Affairs Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa attended the Extraordinary Ministerial Meeting of the League of Arab States held at its headquarters in Cairo which aimed at discussing the latest developments in Libya and Syria.
The Ministerial Council adopted a decision in which Libya re-assumes its seat in the Arab League represented by the National Transitional Council.
The Council expressed its full solidarity with efforts led by the National Transitional Council to maintain the capabilities of the Libyan people to lead the next stage and ensure the safety of Libya’s sovereignty and independence and to provide all facilities, livelihood and humanitarian services to the Libyan people.
The Foreign Minister also took part in the consultative meeting of Arab Foreign Ministers to coordinate and consult over the Ministerial Council’s agenda in its extraordinary meeting.
The Ministerial Council discussed developments in Syria as deep concerns were expressed regarding the deteriorating security situation and the importance of taking all necessary steps to implement reform in order to end violence and achieve stability as well as security to the Syrian people.
