Ahli United Bank has made a donation of BD 50,000 to the Zakat Fund. The Fund is managed by the Ministry of Justice and Islamic Affairs.
Established in 1979, the Zakat Fund plays a key part in supporting individuals and families in need, currently providing a lifeline to over 2,500 families in Bahrain. The Fund’s mission is to uphold and promote the spirit of social solidarity through the collection and distribution of Zakat.
The cheque was handed over by Faiza Saeed, Ahli United Bank’s Head of HR, to Ahmed Mohd Al Hitaimi, Head of the Zakat Fund. “With significant donations from partners like Ahli United Bank we are able to help improve the quality of life for thousands of people who are in need” said Al Hitaimi. “This donation will allow us to increase the number of recipients and help the existing recipients with their expenses especially in this holy month and with the Eid approaching.”
“The Zakat Fund provides much needed help to thousands from across all segments of the society in Bahrain, so we are delighted to support their activities and contribute to achieving their noble goals. At AUB, it is an integral part of our mandate as a corporate citizen to give back to the communities where we operate and prosper,” Faiza Saeed said.
