Bahrain Duty Free held a special staff gathering where General Manager Garrett Coogan revealed the company’s new Vision, purpose and values. The event was divided into two sessions attracted over 250 of the Bahrain Duty Free staff.
In the first segment, the GM articulated the new direction that Bahrain Duty Free is going to undertake with the implicit objective of turning Bahrain Duty Free into a Service Excellence Organisation, where the customer is at the centre of everything it did. To do that, Garrett explained, it was important to revisit the strategic direction as well as culture of the company.
With that objective in mind under a banner of “forward together”, he focused on vision which according to him to be a truly customer focused travel retail company, to be a great place to work and to be the premier travel retailer in the Middle East. Our purpose is to win and keep customers by offering the best of Bahraini hospitality and a simply better shopping experience. Explaining our values he touch upon customer focused, responsible, leadership change orientated, working together and innovation.
The second segment was centered on staff socialising and team building, with a host of games, entertainment and team activities undertaken. There were prizes on offer for the winners. The evening was wound up with the Duty Free management and team enjoying a great meal together.
“The very successful Bahrain Duty Free is approaching its 20th anniversary and I have the wonderful opportunity to lead the company into the next 20 years of success. I am very fortunate that there is an experienced team in place that understands and appreciates Bahrain Duty Free revisiting our vision, purpose and values. This evening’s event was a super occasion to introduce these points and I am very confident going forward together we will live our values throughout the organisation to achieve our vision of becoming a customer focused travel retail company,” he added.
