The BH4Somalia charity campaign, launched by the Information Affairs Authority (IAA) to collect relief aid for the famine-stricken Somali people, has become an instant hit.
According to media statistics released at 01am on Saturday, over 41,000 people have donated over BD 1million to help famine hit people of Somalia.
Donation centres are reporting a massive rush of citizens and expatriates wishing to take part in this charity effort.
Bahrain TV is broadcasting a special live programme in which prominent religious and social figures are encouraging citizens, expatriates and GCC citizens to donate and assist in the aid campaign for the Somali people.
His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa expressed sincere thanks and appreciation to the citizens for their massive show of support for the hunger-stricken brotherly Somali people.
HM King Hamad asserted that the unprecedented success of the BH4Somalia national humanitarian campaign reflects Bahraini people’s solidarity with the brotherly Muslim Somali people.
HM the king also reiterated the kingdom’s full-fledged support for Somalia, praying Allah Almighty to protect the Arab and Islamic nations from disasters.
His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa the Prime Minister expressed his gratitude and appreciation to all Bahraini citizens and resident expatriates who promptly and positively responded to the call of humanity and religious duty in giving relief aid to their brethren in Somalia. His Royal Highness emphasized the urgency of delivering relief aid to all famine victims in Somalia.
His Royal Highness the Prime Minister reiterated the fact that the Kingdom of Bahrain does not spare any effort to deliver assistance from the Kingdom of Bahrain to the distraught Somali people. He hailed the initiatives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa Monarch of the Kingdom of Bahrain – Allah preserves and nurtures His Majesty the King – who had ordered the granting of humanitarian assistance to the distressed Somali people. “This confirms the Kingdom of Bahrain’s genuine humane values in its relationships with all sisterly and friendly countries,” he said.
“The Bahraini people’s prompt positive response by donating in order to alleviate the terrible scourges of famine in Somalia shows the true essence of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s people who have often been prompt to do charitable deeds that reflect the true spirit of the holy month of Ramadan and stirs deep feelings of brotherhood, solidarity and loving-kindness,” His Royal Highness the Prime Minister also said.
His Royal Highness the Prime Minister expressed his gratitude and appreciation to all patriotic citizens who contributed into making this campaign a great success for the sake of delivering relief aid to the Somali people. He praised such efforts which constitute a role model for all Bahraini citizens who never procrastinate when it comes to giving succor to their brethren in religion. His Royal Highness praised the fundraising campaign as it unspeakably depicts the humane stance of this great, kind-hearted, naturally philanthropic people who seek no reward for such kind deeds except from Almighty God who is the most capable of rewarding them abundantly.
