Minister of Labor Jamil bin Mohammed Humaidan on Tuesday revealed Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) had already reinstated 101 employees sacked earlier and also overturned the similar decision for 23 employees.
The Minister also met with Bahrain Property Holdings Company CEO Talal Al-Zain and explored and assessed efficacy and possibility to expedite the actions taken in compliance with the leadership’s directives in order to reinstate demobilized employees in the aftermath of recent incidents whose dismissals could not be justified in Bahrain Property Holdings Company affiliated portfolios.
The meeting reviewed efforts exerted by the company in compliance with the directives issued from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa Monarch of the Kingdom of Bahrain, HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa the Prime Minister and HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander followed by instructions issued by the company’s senior management in order to ensure speedy, efficient actions are taken when considering cases of dismissed employees and removal of any obstacles or impediments.
The two side’s explored concepts and proposals aimed at tackling any difficulties or impediments to secure vital benefits in favor of the dismissed employees and the concerned companies equally alike in terms of compliance with standards, regulations and lawful actions.
Talal Al-Zain said that the company’s senior management had already instructed expediting the implementation of the its instructions to ensure that safe procedures are followed when tackling demobilization files from a legal perspective and in compliance with the Labor Ministry’s instructions.
Dr. Al-Zain hailed the Minister of Labor’s and ministry crews’ efforts in addressing dismissal files efficiently and in a highly responsible manner. He stressed readiness on the part of the company’s senior management to fully cooperate with the Ministry of Labor to find suitable solutions to satisfy everybody and said that the company will announce soon the reinstatement or satisfactory settlement of dismissed employees in the light of legal corporate standards and regulations.
Also the Minister of Labor received similar assurances from Bahrain Petroleum Company (BAPCO) in a letter of updated results in the light of the company’s legal panel’s work. The letter revealed that 101 workers have already been reinstated after BAPCO ad-hoc panels’ verification of their legal status deciding it was appropriate to reinstate them. Also 23 suspension cases have been cancelled as auditing and follow-up processes are well underway in compliance with applicable regulations.
