Global Banking Corporation (GBCORP) announced the launch of its 4th summer internship programme as part of its training initiative to develop prospective banking executives of the future.
Six young interns studying at universities from around the world were selected to be part of GBCORP’s 4th summer internship programme. The age group of the trainees ranges between 19 and 23 years and they come from the University of Bahrain, University of Wales and Royal University for Women.
“GBCORP strongly supports the Government’s Bahrainisation program and has taken strategic initiatives in developing a skilled pool of banking and finance professionals by providing the right platform to aspiring Bahrainis to gain deeper insights into the banking and finance industry as well as develop career oriented expertise,” Abdul Monaim Bastaki, Chief Operating Officer, GBCORP, said.
“Our internship program is designed as a wholesome career development program, enabling students benefit from effective mentoring and objective feedback, backed by critical assignments whereby, students develop the right professional mindset and skill-set for a rewarding career, once they graduate. The trainees gain valuable insight and experience of not just the work environment but also the opportunity to explore opportunities and discover their own potential,” Nabeel Rabeea, GBCORP Head of Human Resources, said.
“We were quite impressed by the interaction and professionalism of the young trainees,” added Rabeea, “and will be looking forward to the next year’s summer programme.”
