Pakistan and Bahrain, historically, enjoy fraternal and eternal ties with the Kingdom of Bahrain, Pakistan’s Ambassador-designate Jauhar Saleem said.
“The excellent political relations, broad based economic relations, close people to people contacts and regular inter governmental interaction has been growing from strength to strength. Both countries share common perceptions and perspectives on a host of issues relating to international peace and development and regional security, both in the Gulf as well as South and South-West Asia,” Ambassador-designate Jauhar Saleem in his message on the 64th Independence Day of Pakistan said.
“Pakistan and Bahrain also have a close identity of views on terrorism, non-proliferation, Palestine and Afghanistan, human rights, WTO-related issues, environment protection and drug trafficking. We also share similar opinions on a number of regional and international issues. Both Pakistan and Bahrain condemn terrorism in all its forms and manifestations and call on the international community to address the root causes of terrorism,” he said.
On behalf of the Government of Pakistan and my own behalf, I extend warmest greetings and best wishes to the Pakistan community in Bahrain, as well as the Government and the friendly people of the Kingdom, on the auspicious occasion of the 64th Independence Day of Pakistan.
14th August is a momentous reminder for the people of Pakistan and it is befittingly celebrated each year with great patriotic fervor and enthusiasm, within the country and by the Pakistani Diaspora, all over the world. The date marks the culmination of the long struggle for creation of a separate sovereign state for the Muslims in geographically contiguous regions of the Asian sub-continent.
The unique spirit of unity, harmony and sacrifice shown by our forefathers that enabled us to achieve the seemingly impossible at the time and emerge as a great nation was truly inspiring. Those are the traditions and principles, bequeathed to us by the freedom lovers that can still serve as a beacon to preserve the survival, independence and solidarity of their country.
His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa is held in very high esteem in Pakistan and His Majesty’s vision for the Kingdom of Bahrain is greatly appreciated by the people and Government of Pakistan.
Top level bilateral contacts, specially, the visits of His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Prime Minister of Bahrain to Pakistan in 2005 as well as His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Commander of Bahrain’s visit to Pakistan in 2006 have greatly contributed to further solidifying our bilateral relations in all fields, including commerce, trade and investment.
Pakistani investors, professionals and workers in Bahrain are significantly contributing to the economic development in Bahrain, both in public and private sectors. We are proud of their dedication, commitment and accomplishment. I am confident that our community here will continue to sustain and strengthen their very positive reputation of fully respecting the local laws and culture and serving Bahrain towards its bright future.
