Dr Mohammed Saleh Al Sada, Minister of Energy and Industry, Qatar will address the opening session of the Annual Fertilizer Convention, co-hosted for the second year running by the Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association (GPCA) and CRU Events.
The 2011 programme will focus on the current and expected future climate for fertilizer investment. The convention will highlight key players and stakeholders leading the way as well as the most influential regions and major projects likely to impact market balance.
The event, taking place in Doha from September 19-21, 2011, is expected to attract over 300 international delegates from the most influential organisations within the industry. The high profile line-up of speakers includes Dr U.S. Awasthi, Managing Director, IFFCO who will open the convention with his keynote speech on this year’s theme ‘Growth in Volatile Markets’.
Delegates will have the opportunity to visit QAFCO 5, the new plant being commissioned this year, adding to the QAFCO production facility, already the world’s largest single-site producer of urea and ammonia. This year’s programme will also feature a special Technical Forum with interactive sessions on the second day.
“We are extremely delighted with the line-up of speakers for this year’s event and are proud that the Minister for Energy and Industry in Qatar will be showing his support to the region and to an event which provides global industry players with a platform to share expertise, exchange ideas, tackle the challenges and harness the opportunities that come with addressing long-term demand for fertilizers in international markets,” said Dr. Abdul-Wahab Al Sadoun, Secretary General, GPCA.
