Last year Samsung was the first to launch a full range of SMART TVs in the region and in 2011, Samsung introduced a new era of home entertainment with the new D series of SMART TVs, the ultimate entertainment technology. In the first half of 2011 Samsung introduced the full range of its latest generation of televisions in the Gulf region, which are more than mere visual and audio receptors. They are in fact the window to an endless world of information. Packed with advanced feature and technologies of Smart 3D and Smart Design, Samsung Smart TV, while compatible with all kinds of 3D content, gives viewers’ access to Samsung’s Smart Hub, its flagship interface of unlimited media and content. The Smart Hub allows viewers to browse through the endless availability of content through full Web Browser, Social TV, Search All and Your Video or even surf the Internet.
Samsung’s range of SMART TVs also allows consumers to customize their television with a dedicated apps store, “Samsung Apps”. Samsung Apps, the world’s first HDTV-based application store, allows you to either buy or download directly whatever applications you want from your own television. Skype with friends and family on your SMART TV with the Skype app or sign-in to your Twitter or Facebook account through the Social TV app. With a host of apps, it’s no surprise that the HDTV-based application store has become a hot trend with over 2 million worldwide downloads since its launch.
