Bahrain’s cabinet, which met for its regular weekly meeting presided over by His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Deputy Premier, gave go ahead to sign the bilateral taxation treaties with two nations, according to the Cabinet Minister Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed.
The meeting hailed the speech of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa Monarch of the Kingdom of Bahrain on the occasion of the last ten days of the holy month of Ramadan and also hailed His Majesty’s wisdom and sincerest invitations for utilization of the atmospheres of the holy month of Ramadan in order to boost our national unity and to sincerely find ways to surmount the recent mishaps.
The cabinet minister emphasized that the noble speech made by His Majesty the King should be adopted by everybody so that Bahrain, its dear citizens and residents will be able to live in security and safety and to achieve further advancement, prosperity and an economic boom. He said that the government will implement His Majesty’s directives.
The cabinet was informed about the outcomes from the Kingdom of Bahrain’s participation in the Friends for Libya conference held in Paris, France. The cabinet was also informed about the participation of His Majesty the King upon invitation extended by the French Republic’s President Nikolai Sarkozy and the results of talks held with leaders and presidents from sisterly and friendly countries citing the Kingdom of Bahrain’s support to all the steps taken in order to realize security and stability for the fraternal Libyan people.
The cabinet discussed the matter of swapping affiliation of the health sciences college from the Ministry of Health to the University of Bahrain. The joint memo submitted for this purpose from the Minister of Education and the Minister of Human Rights and Social Development the Acting Minister of Health was referred to the national committee for development of education and training presided over by His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Deputy Premier.
The cabinet also considered a number of bilateral treaties between the Kingdom of Bahrain and a number of friendly countries in the various fields including cooperation in aviation services, avoidance of dualism of taxation and prevention of financial evasion.
The meeting also reviewed the signing of aviation services agreement between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of Magyar as well as between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and taking the necessary legal actions for this purpose.
The Cabinet gave go ahead for the signing of the agreements of avoidance of double taxation and fiscal evasion between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Portuguese Republic as well as between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.
The Minister of Finance was assigned the task of signing on the said agreements on behalf of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s government.
The cabinet approved the motion-by-wish for construction of new schools in districts where there is maximum need for schools and the provision of lands in districts where the Ministry of Education does not have its own locations.
