The organisers of the international conference on “Development and People’s Access: Deliver the Fruits of Development to the People”, being held in China, hosted a luncheon in honour of the Chairman of the Shura Council’s Foreign Affairs, Defence and National Security Committee Dr. Salah Ali.
Dr. Salah held talks with the Chinese Foreign Ministry’s Ai Ping and officials of the Chinese ruling party on the need to consolidate bilateral cooperation and exchange expertise between the two friendly countries.
Dr. Salah briefed Chinese officials on the development of the kingdom’s democratic march and the forthcoming by-elections due to be held later this month, highlighting the effectiveness of Bahrain’s legislative march during the last decade.
He also gave them an update on the reality of the crisis that the kingdom went through recently and the reform measures taken for the aim of restoring security and stability, safeguarding the kingdom’s hard-won achievements and putting the nation-building march back on track.
The Chinese officials expressed their country’s keen desire to enhance cooperation with Bahrain at all levels, especially the economic, trade, educational and cultural ones.
They also said they were looking forward to visiting the Kingdom as soon as possible in order to be updated on the kingdom’s democratic experience, review ways of bolstering bilateral relations, and explore investment opportunities.
