With the bilateral trade registered an increase of 79% in 2010 over the previous year, the Prime Ministers of Bahrain and Thailand on Monday discussed the possibilities of enhancing the base of relationship in all areas including the vital area of GCC food security.
His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa on Monday met his Thai counterpart Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra at the Kingdom of Thailand’s government headquarters.
The two sides reviewed during the meeting the stages of the progressive Bahraini-Thai relationships and comprehensive, advanced bilateral cooperation. The meeting also discussed regional and international issues of mutual concern.
His Royal Highness the Prime Minister congratulated Prime Minister Shinawatra on winning the elections and the formation of the new government after obtaining the confidence from His Majesty King Bhumibol Aduliadej Monarch of the friendly Kingdom of Thailand and wished Her Excellency success and good luck in her duties in achieving the goals and aspirations of the Thai people towards further progress and development.
His Royal Highness the Prime Minister expressed pleasure at the keenness on the part of the Thai side in supporting the bonds of cooperation and increasing the Bahraini-Thai coordination and expanding its radius and introducing more areas within bilateral cooperation between both countries.
His Royal Highness the Prime Minister also emphasized the Kingdom of Bahrain’s keenness on boosting cooperation with the friendly Kingdom of Thailand constructing on the foundations already laid down through these relationships in terms development and progress for the best interest of both friendly countries and peoples.
His Royal Highness the Prime Minister expressed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s government aspiration for cooperation with the Kingdom of Thailand’s new government in the various fields by furthering the horizons and supporting and developing bilateral relationships in the various political and economic fields.
His Royal Highness the Prime Minister emphasized the need to avail of Thailand’s expertise in the various fields particularly in health. The meeting also discussed the means of cooperation between both friendly countries in the investment and food security sectors. His Royal Highness the Prime Minister expressed his pleasure at the rise in the trade balance between both countries in 2010 by 79% above 2009 which confirms the growth realized in the bilateral trade relations.
His Royal Highness the Prime Minister invited the Kingdom of Thailand’s Prime Minister to visit the Kingdom of Bahrain and stressed the significance of mutual visits in order to realize substantial advancement towards development of bilateral relationships. His Royal Highness the Prime Minister also stressed the importance of continuous fruitful, positive meetings between officials in both countries.
The Kingdom of Thailand’s Prime Minister welcomed the visit of His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa to the Kingdom of Thailand within the framework of the solid friendly bilateral bonds. She hailed the great role of His Royal Highness the Prime Minister in laying down the strong foundations for these relationships. The Kingdom of Thailand’s Prime Minister also hailed the strong economic growth in the Kingdom of Bahrain in particular and in the GCC countries in general.
His Royal Highness the Prime Minister was hosted by the Kingdom of Thailand’s Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra to a banquet attended by a number of senior Thai government officials.
