The business community on Friday condemned the cheap tactics of publicity adopted by the protesters by storming the one of the largest shopping malls Bahrain City Centre.
The Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) voiced its strong rejection of any attempt to break the law, disrupt security, target public and private properties, violate liberties and harm people’s livelihoods.
Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry chairman Dr. Essam Fakhro condemned chaotic acts, illegal and unlicensed demonstrations which target vital trading and economic locations and zones.
“These attempts are perpetrated for well-known designs to damage public and private properties and facilities and disrupt security and stability”, he said.
He warned against the detrimental repercussions of such designs on trade activities, economic development and promising investment opportunities in Bahrain.
He also lauded His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa for following developments personally and efforts to inspire assurance among citizens, expatriates and visitors.
Dr. Fakhro stressed the crucial importance of security and stability as the driving force, engineering renaissance in modern societies.
“No economic prosperity can be achieved unless security and stability prevail”, he said, describing Friday’s escalation as an affront to the atmosphere of openness reigning in Bahrain.
He warned that such illegal acts would compromise Bahrain’s development, social and economic goals, paying tribute to the Government for addressing national issues.
Dr. Fakhro also warned against the impact of such chaotic acts, saying that they would push Bahrain towards detrimental repercussions on the Kingdom’s economic and social development march.
He also lauded the efforts of the security forces and traffic patrols to maintain order and security and protect vital economic locations and trading facilities across Bahrain.
