The Minister of Energy Dr Abdulhussein Bin Ali Mirza reviewed the reports compiled by companies in the oil and gas sector regarding the mechanism for implementation of the national consensus dialogue’s views and the schedule for the implementation of these views through programmes, activities and services.
Dr Mirza said that in the light of directives from the cabinet to give maximum priority to the implementation of national consensus dialogue’s views and to ensure the implementation of these views he has given specific directives to implement the national dialogue outcome with regard to the oil and gas sector.
The Minister of Energy spoke to the companies operating in the field of oil and gas and urged them to essentially study the views of the national consensus dialogue held last July.
The Minister instructed the companies to submit their reports on the possible areas for creating projects, services or programs in order to implement these views in compliance with the directives of the wise leadership in this regard. The Minister emphasized the need for the oil sector to strive to implement these views and to follow up their implementation through sustainable programs which satisfy our national aspirations.
Most views of the national dialogue are connected with the oil sector in the economic theme which the Minister described as the backbone of our national economy in achieving more development and growth in order to attain a specific leap by increasing sources of income, provision of new job opportunities and increasing competitiveness in the productive sectors.
The oil companies proposals regarding implementation of the national consensus dialogue’s views include many positive elements the most important of which is to ensure the starting of new projects and the development and expansion of existing projects in order to avail from the opportunity of the provision of additional sources of income and boosting the national economic cycle and productivity and making available new job opportunities.
The oil companies views regarding the implementation of national dialogue views focused on methodology of corporate governance. These companies set rules for governance within their priorities of action in order to ensure non-conflicting powers, non-conflicting interests in addition to ensuring the rules for transparency, fairness and openness in addition to the provision of the best services.
